Hi!

Allison says lots of words, but my favorite right now is “Hi!”. She doesn’t just say it short and sweet, but drawls it out. Like a southern belle greeting guests at a party. “H-igh!”. While she waves her hand back and forth.

Valentine’s 2005

Around our house, Valentine’s day is for the kids. We were very sneaky about buying Nathan and Zoey a box of chocolates and Valentine’s day cards and set them in their seats in the car. After school, Nathan brought his unopened box into the house and put it on his bed and went into the living room (probably to play the Playstation).

Allison happily made her way to Nathan’s room, pulled the box of candy from his bed. Unwrapped the cellophane packaging, opened the lid and began taste-testing each of the pieces of candy. After Greg realized that Allison had been too quiet for too long, he found her. Allison was happy to share with Nathan. Looks like she is thinking, “This is really good stuff, you should try it!”

Nathan – being the good sport that he is – thought it was pretty funny.

Nathan is pretty cool

Nathan is a pretty cool kid. He has a great sense of humor. Yesterday he was telling us about his day at school. He told us how he had a substitute teacher because Ms. Nichols was away at a workshop. I’m not sure how it came up, but Mrs. Nichols told him that there were going to be some huge cookies for them at their hotel. Silly kid that he is he asked her to bring him one back. Mrs. Nichols told him no. The story was cute, but it was pretty funny the way Nathan told it (and very hard to give you a sense of it in type).

It is also almost Valentine’s day. We went to the new SUPER Walmart and bought all of the things for school (cards, candy, and some gifts for a few of their friends). Nathan really wants to surprise Zoey with a Valentine’s Day card. “Mom can we take our lunches to school on Valentine’s Day. Then I will be able to hide Zoey’s card in her lunch box. So, of course the kids will be taking their lunches on Valentine’s day. Why wouldn’t a mom want to encourage this kind of behavior.
