Nathan is a pretty cool kid. He has a great sense of humor. Yesterday he was telling us about his day at school. He told us how he had a substitute teacher because Ms. Nichols was away at a workshop. I’m not sure how it came up, but Mrs. Nichols told him that there were going to be some huge cookies for them at their hotel. Silly kid that he is he asked her to bring him one back. Mrs. Nichols told him no. The story was cute, but it was pretty funny the way Nathan told it (and very hard to give you a sense of it in type).
It is also almost Valentine’s day. We went to the new SUPER Walmart and bought all of the things for school (cards, candy, and some gifts for a few of their friends). Nathan really wants to surprise Zoey with a Valentine’s Day card. “Mom can we take our lunches to school on Valentine’s Day. Then I will be able to hide Zoey’s card in her lunch box.� So, of course the kids will be taking their lunches on Valentine’s day. Why wouldn’t a mom want to encourage this kind of behavior.
