Nathan and Zoey are both playing baseball, machine pitch for Nathan and t-ball for Zoey. They are both having a ball (haha). If it isn’t Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday, you will find us at practice or a game. Sometimes we will be at both, usually with Greg taking Nathan and I handle the girls.
Nathan is playing catcher on his team. Right now, catcher is kind of boring. We have been telling N that if he wants to stick with baseball, in the next few years his position will become one of the most important. He likes the idea of that. He has been doing great at baseball. He gets on base (with a hit) just about every bat.
Zoey switches between first base and first base backup (like a short stop but between 1st and 2nd). T-ball is fun to watch in a different way than baseball. The kids are hilarious. Half of the fielders (in and out) are playing in the dirt. The other half are either way serious-looking (I’m going to catch that ball if it’s the last thing I do), or just hanging out. When they try to tag someone out, more often than not, they will throw the ball at the person instead of touching them. It’s the ball that makes the person out, right?. Watching them try to slide like the big kids is an experience in itself. In their minds they are all pro ball players. Speaking of which, Z made a great catch at her game the other day. A team-mate passed it to her, it took a little hop and floated right into her glove where she touched 1st base to get the player out.
