Remember way back at the end of May when I was so excited about moving Allison into her own bed? We were a little late getting started because, well, 1) I’m just lazy and 2)Allison would go to bed later than Zoey, who we didn’t want to wake up when putting Allison to bed. Last night may be the start of something new. She slept in her bed the whole night. From start to finish. Sure, she woke up a few times, but instead of bringing her into our bed, I just laid down with her. I’m pretty sure Zoey just slept through it all.
Greg and I have a plan and maybe, just maybe, it will work. Usually, Nathan and Zoey brush their teeth and are in their rooms at 8:30 to read until 9:00. We are going to start putting Allison to bed at 8:30. Until Allison gets used to falling asleep in her own bed, Zoey is going to read in our room. If Allison still isn’t asleep by 9:00 then Zoey gets to fall asleep in our bed. It took about an hour of “I want go night-night Mom’s bed” and “I won’t go night-night my bed, I don’t like my bed” last night. Once Allie is asleep, we’ll move Zoey over. With any luck, Allison will be used to sleeping in her own bed in a week or two.
Even with all of the extra space last night, Greg still slept in his little sliver of bed he is usually allocated when Allison is sprawling out with us.
