Off Duty

I have been selected for Jury Duty, doing that civic duty and all. The trial could possibly last until Thursday. This most likely means that there won’t be many posts for the next few days. Here are a few quick observations/slightly funny things I noticed today.

Sitting on a jury is like watching a really bad high school play. It’s a little like being in one also. The kind where you don’t have any lines and can see the play getting worse and worse.
It’s very odd when one of the lawyers forgets what he was going to say and just stops talking for a minute or 2. Almost as odd as when one of them is in the middle of a question, then just stops and says, “I release the witness”.
It’s funny when the judge gets onto the lawyers.
I am the youngest member of the jury. It’s me, a lady who is 33 but looks 45* , a few people who are actually in their 40′s, and the rest are all retired.
The lady sitting next to me keeps falling asleep.
Do most lawyers have slicked back hair?

*Seriously, do I look that old? Am I under some delusion that I look much younger than I actually do?
