Bedtime and Inspiration

Every night, Allison wants to pick out something to sleep with, but is never happy with any of her choices. She will spend the whole time I am reading looking for something that is just right. On Friday, Amy and I were talking about crafty blogs and she showed me some pictures of the things she has made for her adorable kiddos. Inspired, I decided to make Allison a pointy kitty from Wee Wonderfuls.

I was a little hesitant about making something. I wanted it to feel special to her. Having visions of something magical that she will treasure forever, she got to pick out the fabric and then I set to work. Here’s where the anxiety set in. What if she took one look at the final product then dropped it on the floor to be forgotten with the rest of her toys? What if she never wanted to sleep with it? What if she just didn’t like it at all?

I shouldn’t have worried so much. She named the kitty Patcha and has been sleeping with it for the past 3 nights. On Saturday she asked, “Mom, she doesn’t have to be just a night-time kitty, right? She can be a day and night kitty. I can play with her any time I want. Right, Mom.”

Nothing really

Ugh, I had something fabulous to blog about last night. I even said to Greg, “Hey help me remember that so that I can type it up later.” I didn’t want to lean over to the computer to type it up then. That would have taken effort.

Needless to say, neither one of us can remember what it was. Now it’s gone. Just think of the greatness you missed out on.* How frustrating. Especially since there really haven’t been that many blog worthy occurrences lately. This is all about to change. Baseball and softball season is about to start, so soon you will be bombarded with little league recaps. Ok, there probably won’t really be too many of them. Mostly because I will have forgotten how the game went by the time I get in front of the computer to type about it.

Aren’t these the kinds of posts everyone loves? Maybe what ever it was will grace my thoughts again. In the mean time, glad you stopped by! I have absolutely nothing interesting to say.

*yes, I ended in a preposition.

Resemblance

At my mom’s house she pulled out a canister that was filled with old pictures. Some are dated in the 1930′s but for the most part they are from the 60′s (my mom’s childhood) and the 70′s (mine and my brother’s). I quickly swiped them so that I could add them to the digital world.

There are a couple of things that really stand out to me about some of these pictures.

Although Nathan is the spitting image of Greg, he looks an awful lot like my brother.

When we are around my aunts and cousins, everyone calls Zoey “Little Annie”. “Little Linda” would have been more appropriate.
