9/30/08 – Day 274

Sometimes I let the kids use the camera to take pictures. Allison really wanted to take some pictures at Nathan’s practice of the dirt that was “so much fun!”. She snapped this one of herself not realizing the camera was on.

9/29/08 – Day 273

Recommended by 9 out of 10 gynecologist offices. Maybe not, but it sounds good.

Nuevo!

9/27/08 – Day 271

First football game of the season. During one of the plays, Nathan got tackled and landed wrong on his shoulder.

After playing with a broken finger for the last month of baseball because he didn’t think he was very hurt, we take it serious when he tells us something does hurt.

9/26/08 – Day 270

This is what a bullet hole looks like in double paned glass.

Thankfully no one was at work when someone decided to take a few shots at my office building.

9/25/08 – Day 269

And so it begins. Nathan brought his baritone home from school today. Almost as soon as I got home from work, he started playing it.

Because he is the child of a nerd, he immediately set to teaching himself the theme to Star Wars.

9/24/08 – Day 268

This is the first full size quilt I tried. It’s random rectangles in prints that Nathan picked out. Very much a boy’s quilt.

Falling behind

Good grief, I need to post more often. The thing is, and here’s the thing… (anyone else say both?), there’s a bunch going on right now. Some of it I don’t really want to share with the world. Some of it is so boring, no one in their right minds wants to read about it, “Hey! We spent all weekend cleaning the house and you can’t even tell!” type of stuff. Crafty things are going on, but must wait to be shown off. It feels like there are other, pretty major and important things might be going on, but because they only might be going on, I won’t talk about them yet.

Inquiring minds want to know what instrument Nathan will be playing. He hasn’t brought it home yet, so our ears have some peace. When he does, it will be the baritone. I am pretty excited because it is an instrument I can help him learn (if he will let me). Maybe those two years as a music major will come in handy for something after all.

Allison absolutely loves school. I was worried because, well, she’s bright and is used to getting her way (she is the youngest). She’s also not afraid to speak her mind. I was afraid she would be bored and that adjusting to a school environment would be tough for her. Glad I was wrong.

Oh, lack of posts can also be contributed to designing Fantastic Contraptions. The kids think it is pretty fun to play also, but we don’t share our levels until after everyone has completed it. It’s interesting to see what each person designs.

9/23/08 – Day 267

First scrimmage of the season. Nathan’s coach has been working on a few plays since practices began a few weeks ago. Just before the scrimmage the boys had to learn five new plays which are all they used in the scrimmage. Pretty funny to not show the other team the real stuff.

Only 100 days left!

9/22/08 – Day 266

Finally, I did it. A pretty decent picture of our historic courthouse on the square.
