Out picking up some stocking stuffers and saw this. Incredibly funny and disgusting at the same time.
One of Zoey’s cookbooks has a recipe for Baklava that she has really wanted to try out. Christmas baking seemed like the perfect time. It is very tasty but has a slightly dry flaky texture that not everyone in our house liked.
All the kids. LT isn’t normally an inside dog. He’s got a pretty lethal tail. Since the weather is getting colder, we are teaching him where his spots are in the house.
Last year, when we only had four teachers to give gifts, we opted for gift cards to Barnes & Noble for each of them. The idea was, they could either buy books for themselves or the classroom. Hopefully they used it for themselves, but teacher funds for classrooms are severely lacking the world over.
This year with 11 teachers, I needed something more budget friendly.
Pre-boiling not necessary. I made two batches of lasagna tonight. One to eat and one for the freezer.
Busy, busy, busy.
I have known what I am going to send some of our nephews for months. So why did I wait until the last minute to actually complete the gifts?
Greg and I thought our house needed something extra than just the roof lights. I bought boxes and boxes of miniature lights and wrapped them around some of the tree branches.
We think it looks pretty magical – and like we could read a book if we sat under it.
Once when Nathan was a baby and we were shopping, he started crying. The only way we could soothe him was to let him hold and gum on a lemon. I have no idea why that is all he wanted, but it worked. We didn’t question it.
Today, Allison has been carrying around this lemon. I wouldn’t be surprised if she tries to sleep with it tonight.
