Just a quick recap of our vacation over the last few days. More detailed posts will follow. I promise.
1. Shreveport, not our true starting location (I’m not going to put it on the web), but close enough.
2. Wichita Falls, TX – Hotel for sleeping before heading out Wednesday morning.
3. Lawton, OK (Wednesday)- First real day of vacation. We visited places from Greg’s childhood.
4. Clovis, NM – Woohoo! Made it to Stephen’s. After dinner for them and some dessert for us, everyone fell asleep.
5. Eagle Nest, NM (Thursday PM – Saturday AM) – Almost as far North as you can go in New Mexico. Hiking, taking in the scenery and just spending some relaxing time together.
6. Roswell, NM (Saturday Lunch time) – A few hours for a nice visit with Greg’s maternal Grandparents (and some aliens)
7. Carlsbad Caverns, NM – We almost drove the whole length of New Mexico. Stalagtites, Stalagmites, and watching thousands and thousands of bats fly out of the cave at dusk.
8. Midland, TX (Late, Late, Saturday night) – On the road back home again. Swimming and a bookstore in the morning before the last 10 hours of the drive home.
1 (again). – Home sweet Home!
Total miles (not counting just driving around towns) – about 2100

How fun. Except the Clovis part. We visited our some friends of ours out there last year. The only redeeming quality about the place had to have been the prairie dogs. Also, the drive down from Amarillo through Bovina and all the stock yards started my path to vegetarianism. I will keep your brother in my thoughts.

I was so glad you were able to stop here for a while. The children are delightful and soooooooooooo well mannered. Hopefully, you can stay longer next time.
Love,
Grandma
The quilt you made is so amazing.
