Entertaining herself at a softball game.

I took a picture of this a few weeks ago on a different trip to Shreveport. Something was different this time. The dancing lady is sporting a jersey for the local hockey team.
More of our Shreveport visit for Nathan’s birthday. We stopped in Claires where Zoey and Alli each found something they loved. Zoey found some clear glasses (since she actually can wear glasses, I didn’t really see the appeal but I am just an uncool mom) and Alli found a hat that suits her.
I love this picture of Zoey. Not only is she beautiful, but she looks so self-confident. The same can be said of Alli in the next picture adding in that she is also a goofball.
We were waiting for the boys somewhere and Alli wanted to jump out and scare Nathan. He looks frightened, right? That’s only because he is frightened of me taking his picture.
In case you missed it, yesterday was Nathan’s 14th birthday. We thought it would be fun to send him on a scavenger hunt for his present before hitting the road to Shreveport. Each clue led him to the next and when he had all of them, he had to put them in the right order for the location of his gift.
Alli liked the idea and really wanted to help. The only problem was that she kept getting to the clues before Nathan. She’s a little bummed that we told her she had to let him find them.
I wonder where this one could be.
Sneaky Greg hid a clue inside of the box he got with his new phone a few months ago. Nathan was excited and hopeful, but not quite fooled.
Found. Something for the X-Box and a case of cold Dr. Pepper.
For Nathan’s birthday, we hit the road to Shreveport as soon as I got off of work. We had a great time playing mini golf, walking around the shops, and eating. Fourteen seems like it’s going to be a fun age. Still pushing boundaries but less argumentative than 12 and 13. Also less somber than the couple of years before. He gets some of the witty jokes Greg and I tell and it’s fun to make him laugh.
Apparently, being 14 means that you can eat anything. Even a 1lb burger. Remember those days?
Go Underdogs!
She’s safe, her rear might not feel that way (this is not Zoey).
This game was rough for the other team’s catcher. She liked to stand right in the base line on top of home plate. Here’s Zoey skirting around her to tap home plate.
Later in the night one of the girls on our team had to try and slide through her to home. They got tangled up and the catcher was taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg.
Today was the first ever home and garden show. We decided to stop by and see if they would have anything for us. Since it was the first one, it was a little on the small side. It can only get better though, right?
So, there is a lady that I do Zumba with who is in charge of almost all of the beauty pageants in our region. Have you seen the show Toddlers and Tiaras? They have filmed 2 or three of her pageants. Last week she asked if I would help her out by being the official auditor (person who tallies the scores). It was just as interesting as it sounds.
Today was the first grade spring play. Allison was nervous! When we saw her before the play started she kept worrying, “What if I mess up?”. I reassured her that it wasn’t that big a deal if she messed up. People would just think she was cute.
Alli (and the rest of her class) were sharks. It was a really cute play about different fish in the sea. For some reason, Alli was really nervous even after her class did their song. I couldn’t figure out why, but she told me she wasn’t done yet. I just figured her class had another song to sing or something. I was wrong. She was the show ender! She stood by herself on the stage and thanked everyone for coming to see their performance. She did a terrific job. I on the other had did a terrible job of recording it. I thought I would just use the video feature on the camera instead of toting around two different cameras. I guess I should have made sure I knew how to operate it first.
